C-SPAN’s Local Content Vehicles (LCVs) made a stop in their “2018 LCV Cities Tour” in Lawrence, Kansas, from October 20-24, 2018, to feature the history and literary life of the community. Working with the Midco cable local affiliate, they visited literary and historic sites where local historians, authors, and civic leaders were interviewed. The history segments air on American History TV (AHTV) on C-SPAN3 and the literary events/non-fiction author segments air on Book TV on C-SPAN2.

Former U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole (R) is one of only a few women to have held cabinet positions in two different administrations. She married Bob Dole in 1975 and served as a Senator from North Carolina from 2003 to 2009. Audrey Coleman, assistant director and senior archivist at the Dole Institute of Politics, shared the history of her career as the Institute prepares to process her congressional papers.
