After surviving a no confidence vote from members within her own party, British Prime Minister Theresa May reported back to Parliament on her meeting with European leaders and offered the latest developments on negotiations on the U.K.'s exit from the European Union, also known as “Brexit.” She announced that the delayed vote on her Brexit deal would take place during the week of January 14, 2019. Several members, including Opposition Leader Jeremy Corbyn, criticized her decision to hold the vote after the Christmas recess, accusing her of stalling for political reasons. Other members continued to press Prime Minister May on holding a second Brexit referendum and going back to EU leaders to secure the best deal on the Northern Ireland-Republic of Ireland border issue.
