House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) talked to reporters about a looming deadline for a partial government shutdown due to an impasse on funding for border security as requested by President Trump. Leader Pelosi said Democrats would not agree to the latest offer from the White House and Republicans, which would include some reprogramming of funding by the Executive Branch, and called the proposal a “slush fund” for the president.
