House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) responded to President Trump’s first Oval Office national address. In the speech the president called on Congress to re-open the government from a partial shutdown by passing a bill that includes over $5 billion to build a U.S.-Mexico border wall. The two Democratic leaders urged President Trump and congressional Republicans to reopen the government and save the border security issue for later in the year. close
