In his annual “State of American Business” address, U.S. Chamber of Commerce president and CEO Thomas Donohue gave his assessment of the economy and current business environment. Mr. Donohue said the Chamber of Commerce projects a minimum growth rate of 2.6 percent along with low unemployment for 2019. In addition, he urged the White House and Congress to come to a solution on border security as well as protecting undocumented young immigrants, known as Dreamers. Other issues addressed included trade policy, cybersecurity, deregulation and workforce development issues. close
