Congressional Democrats, including House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (MD) and Senators Mark Warner (VA), Chris Van Hollen (MD), and Ben Cardin (MD), participated in a rally held by the AFL-CIO to call for an end to the partial shutdown of the federal government. Several union leaders and members spoke about the impact of the shutdown on their lives and called on President Trump and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to reopen the government. close
