President Trump spoke briefly with Capitol Hill reporters after meeting with legislative leaders to negotiate an end to a partial government shutdown, which was on its 19th day. The president said his party was behind him in his request for $5.7 billion to build a barrier along the U.S.-Mexico border, saying it was necessary to secure the nation.
