On day 25 of a partial government shutdown over President Trump’s demand for funds to build a U.S.-Mexico border wall, the Senate voted to advance a resolution disapproving of the Treasury Department lifting sanctions on three Russian companies. Members also considered legislation to provide military aid to Israel and put new sanctions on Syria.
