On day 26 of the longest government shutdown in U.S. history, Senator John Barrasso (R-WY) talked about the National Institutes of Health, which built a wall around its Bethesda, Maryland, facility after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. He said Democrats were prolonging the shutdown because of their opposition to a U.S.-Mexico border wall.

Following Senator Barrasso’s remarks, Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) spoke about the shutdown, blaming President Trump and Senate Majority Leader McConnell for the impasse. She then talked about the effects of the shutdown in Massachusetts. close
