With an aging population and new technology at fraudsters' disposal, seniors have become increasingly vulnerable to financial schemes and scams that cost seniors about $2.9 billion each year. The committee heard testimony from the daughter of fraud victims, a state attorney general, a law enforcement official and a consultant with the Justice Department on how the federal government can better work with state and local stakeholders to address these schemes. close
