Telephone lines and social media were open for viewer calls on President Trump’s proposal to end the longest government shutdown in U.S. history. In exchange for the president’s continued demand for a U.S.-Mexico border wall, his plan offers temporary protection for undocumented immigrants eligible for the Obama administration’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

Linda Feldman spoke by phone about the details of the president’s proposal and congressional reaction to it.
