President Bill Clinton’s nominee for the Supreme Court, Ruth Bader Ginsburg appeared before the Senate Judiciary Committee for her nomination hearing. Senators Patrick Moynihan (D-NY), Alphonse D’Amato (R-NY), and Representative Ellen Holmes-Norton (D-D.C.) introduced the judge during the first day of her confirmation hearing. Following opening statements by all members of the committee, Judge Ginsburg introduced her family attending the hearing and gave her opening statement on her perspective of her nomination to the Supreme Court. close
