Burgess Everett previewed Senate floor votes happening later that day on competing plans to reopen the government. The first, supported by President Trump, would have funded the government through September 30, 2019, while providing money for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program and a U.S.-Mexico border wall. The second plan, offered by Democrats, would fund the government through February 8, 2019, but provide no money for a border wall. close
