In this portion of the winter meeting of the U.S. Conference of Mayors, mayors and gun control advocates talked about gun violence and hate crimes in their cities, with a focus on ways their cities are reducing gun violence. Former Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School student and advocate David Hogg gave impassioned remarks, urging city leaders to do more in combating gun violence. He told the mayors, “If you’re afraid of the NRA, you shouldn’t even be here.” close
