The Senate Judiciary Committee voted 12-10 along party lines to favorably report out the nomination of William Barr to be the next attorney general for full consideration on the floor. Committee members also advanced the nominations of more than 40 nominees to be federal judges and the nominee for director of the U.S. Marshals Service. Prior to voting, the senators had heated discussions regarding the Barr nomination and several other judicial nominations. close
