A House Energy and Commerce subcommittee held a hearing on the Trump administration’s policy of separating migrant children from their parents crossing the U.S.-Mexico border. In the first panel, administration officials talked about how the decision to enact the policy for asylum seekers at the U.S.-Mexico border was reached and implemented, and whether any senior administration officials encountered resistance to the policy. The second panel comprised pediatric physical and mental health experts who spoke about effects of such separations. close
