Trent Hone, author of Learning War: The Evolution of Fighting Doctrine in the U.S. Navy, 1898-1945, analyzed how U.S. Naval strategies developed during the the Battle of Guadalcanal. Mr. Hone argued that these developments eventually led to victory in the Pacific War. This talk was part of a day-long symposium on the Battle of Guadalcanal hosted by the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. close
