In 1945, four black privates serving in the U.S. Women Army Corps went on strike to protest discrimination. Sandra Bolzenius, author of Glory in Their Spirit: How Four Black Women Took On the Army during World War II," talked about the women’s decision, their court-martial, and reactions by the public and press.
