In this portion of the 21st annual National Freedom of Information (FOI) Day conference, experts talked about the legal concerns with new government surveillance technology such as face recognition software and artificial intelligence. Following the panel discussion, Representative Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) spoke about Congress' oversight role of such technology.

This portion of the 2019 National Freedom of Information Day conference was part of an event called “Sunshine Week,” a national project to promote dialogue about the importance of open government and freedom of information. close
