House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) held his weekly news conference with reporters on Capitol Hill where he answered questions on the previous day’s vote on an anti-hate resolution. The House overwhelming passed the resolution condemning anti-Semitism and anti-Muslim bigotry following the fallout over controversial comments made by Representative Ilhan Omar (D-MN). Mr. McCarthy said the it was a “defining week,” and called the vote “the moment that the new Democrat socialist wing of the party overtook their own leadership.” close
