The U.S. Institute of Peace hosted a discussion on the Russian annexation of Crimea in 2014 and its impact five years later. Speakers included the Ukrainian ambassador to the U.S., former State Department officials, and Crimean Tatar leaders. They spoke about Europe’s current relationship with Russia and what more the U.S. could do in bolstering relationships with Ukraine as well as instituting more sanctions and pressure against Russia.
