The Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) examined the Trump administration’s new initiative to end HIV transmission in the U.S., originally announced during the president’s State of the Union address. Health and Human Services Assistant Secretary for Health Brett Girior discussed the initiative’s relation to the National HIV/AIDS Strategy, addressing the HIV stigma and HIV prevention through pre-exposure prophylaxis, known as PrEP. Later, a panel of experts discussed the feasibility of the initiative on the local level, its relation to health insurance policy, and programs promoting early intervention. close
