Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Administrator Seema Verma held a news conference to announce a new valued-based primary care initiative. The new plan, called CMS Primary Cares, offers primary care practices and other providers with five new payment models. Secretary Azar said, “this initiative will radically elevate the importance of primary care in American medicine.” Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation Director Adam Boehler also delivered remarks and took questions from reporters. close
