President Trump talked to reporters as he departed the White House for a summit on drug abuse in Atlanta, making his first extensive remarks since the April 18, 2019, release of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. He said the report exonerated him of accusations of collusion with Russia and of obstruction of justice, despite the report saying it did not clear him on grounds of obstruction. He expressed displeasure with House Democrats' calls to investigate his financial and business dealings, saying Special Counsel Mueller’s team had already looked into his finances in what was “the most thorough investigation in the history of the country.” close
