Following a House Judiciary Committee hearing that Attorney General Barr refused to attend, rank-and-file committee Democrats held a news conference on the stand-off between the panel and the attorney general. Several of the lawmakers said if Mr. Barr failed to comply with subpoenas for documents and testimony, they would hold contempt proceedings.
