Clemson University history Professor Vernon Burton recalled his experiences as an expert witness for plaintiffs in voting rights cases in South Carolina and Texas. Professor Burton also discussed the Reconstruction era and constitutional amendments that were intended to expand and protect voting rights. This talk was part of two-day symposium on Reconstruction hosted by the U.S. Capitol Historical Society. close
