Astrophysicists and astronomers testified at a hearing on the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT), which captured the very first image of a super-massive black hole. Among the witnesses were Event Horizon Telescope Director Sheperd Doeleman and National Science Foundation Director France Cordova. Mr. Doeleman said the image is confirmation of Einstein’s theory of general relativity at the edge of a super-massive black hole. The collaboration includes over 200 scientists and engineers working in over 20 countries and regions around the world. close
