“Ladies Wear the Blue” is a U.S. Navy documentary and recruitment film tracing the history of women in the Navy from 1917 to 1974. It features an interview with World War I and World War II veteran Captain Joy Hancock. The second half of the film explores how contributions by Navy women increased beginning in the mid-1960s as restrictions were removed, and opportunities opened up in a variety of fields. close
