House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) began debate on a resolution marking the 30th anniversary of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests in China. The bill is to remember the victims of the protests in Tiananmen Square and elsewhere in China on June 3 and 4, 1989 and calling on the government of the People’s Republic of China to recognize the human rights of everyone living in China and around the world. House Speaker Pelosi honored and remembered the victims of those who were killed during the protests in Tiananmen Square, saying they stood up for freedom.

Her remarks were followed by Representatives Michael McCaul (R-TX), Tom Malinowski (D-NJ), Scott Perry (R-PA) and Jim McGovern (D-MA). close
