California State University professor Andrew Stoner talked about his biography of author and journalist Randy Shilts, who covered the HIV/AIDS epidemic for the San Francisco Chronicle and in his book, “And the Band Played On.” He died of AIDS in 1994. Mr. Stoner described Shilt’s work to bring gay culture and issues to mainstream media. Indy Reads Books in Indianapolis hosted this event. close
