British Prime Minister Theresa May fielded questions from members in the House of Commons, her first appearance at Question Time since stepping down as Conservative Party leader. She told lawmakers she would stay on as a member of Parliament even after her successor is chosen, expected to happen around mid-July 2019. She also announced that her government would commit to a net-zero carbon emissions by 2050, making the U.K. the first of the G-7 nations to legislate this measure. close
