When a group of gays, lesbians, and transgendered individuals stood up to police raiding a popular gay hangout in New York City on the night of June 28th, 1969, they had no idea where their actions would lead. The event became known as the Stonewall riots. This month marks the 50th anniversary of the uprising. Brock Thompson, a writer for the Washington Blade. He talks about Stonewall, the history of the LGBTQ movement, equality, and his own personal journey.
