The House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties held a hearing on the Voting Rights Act and the 2013 Supreme Court decision in Shelby County v. Holder that invalidated parts of the Voting Rights Act. Stacey Abrams, the 2018 Democratic Georgia gubernatorial candidate and the founder of voting rights group Fair Fight Action, joined a panel of attorneys and state officials to testify on the impact of the Shelby County decision. close
