British Prime Minister Theresa May answered questions from members on domestic and foreign policy issues in the House of Commons. Several questions focused on the U.K.'s policy on arms sales to Saudi Arabia, following a British court decision ruling it unlawful to continue licensing military equipment to the region. Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn pressed the prime minister on this issue pointing to Saudi Arabia’s military action in Yemen and the humanitarian crisis that followed. Also, Scottish National Party parliamentary leader Ian Blackford criticized Boris Johnson, the former foreign secretary and front-runner to replace Prime Minister May, saying he had “made a career out of lying.” Other questions focused on climate change, medical marijuana, and allegations of Islamophobic comments by some in the Conservative Party. close
