Garry Adelman of the American Battlefield Trust tackled the whole Civil War in 56 minutes. He began with the lead-up to the war, from the Compromise of 1850 to Bloody Kansas to Abraham Lincoln’s 1860 election and the secession crisis. Then, he highlighted the major battles from each year of the conflict and concluded with the Confederate surrender and Lincoln’s assassination in 1865. The Gettysburg Heritage Center in Pennsylvania hosted this talk. close
