U.N. Special Rapporteur Agnes Callamard discussed the findings of her report on the death of Saudi journalist and Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi. The report concluded, “Mr. Khashoggi’s killing constituted an extrajudicial killing for which the State of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is responsible.” The report was issued following a six-month investigation on Mr. Khashoggi, who was killed at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul in October 2018. Following opening remarks, Brookings Institution Middle East Policy Senior Fellow Tamara Cofman Wittes moderated a discussion with Ms. Callamard. close
