Their exhibit tells the story of Tinker v. Des Moines, a 1969 landmark Supreme Court case in which the justices ruled 7-2 that students do not lose their First Amendment rights at school. The students explained how the case relates to political protests and actions by present-day young people.

Three high school students from Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu talked about their entry to the National History Day competition held at the University of Maryland, College Park.
