Three high school students from Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu talked about their entry to the National History Day competition held at the University of Maryland, College Park. Their exhibit tells the story of Tinker v. Des Moines, a 1969 landmark Supreme Court case in which the justices ruled 7-2 that students do not lose their First Amendment rights at school. The students explained how the case relates to political protests and actions by present-day young people.
