In her last major speech as British prime minister, Theresa May delivered remarks in London on the state of politics in the U.K. and abroad. In her remarks, she spoke about the dangers of populism, lack of compromise around the world, and expressed “deep regret” that she was not able to deliver on the U.K’s exit from the European Union ("Brexit). She added that with greater compromise in Parliament, Brexit would have been carried out sooner. Following the speech, she answered a series of questions, including the U.K.'s relations with the U.S. Her remarks came one week before she officially steps down as prime minister. close
