President Trump met with astronauts Buzz Aldrin, Michael Collins, and the family of Neil Armstrong to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their Apollo 11 Moon landing. First lady Melania Trump, Vice President Mike Pence and NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine also joined the president in the Oval Office to honor the Apollo 11 legacy and discuss future NASA missions, which include working with private space companies, returning to the Moon and eventually landing humans on Mars. After the remarks, President Trump took a number of questions. He was also asked again about the “send her back” chant that broke out at his rally earlier in the week. After saying the previous day that he was “unhappy” with the chant, the president said, “You know what I’m unhappy with? I’m unhappy with the fact that a congresswoman can hate our country,” and went on to call the North Carolina rally attendees “incredible patriots.” close
