Released in 1969, “A Chronology of Hope” is a U.S. Information Agency film promoting America’s diplomatic efforts to negotiate an end to the Vietnam War from 1964 to the beginning of the Richard Nixon administration. Like all other USIA productions, the film was intended only for foreign audiences. Although the film is optimistic about peace, U.S. participation in the war would continue for four more years. close
