According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were 4,985 strikes involving 4.6 million workers in 1946 - the largest number the bureau ever recorded in a single year. The main issues were low wages and rising living costs. “For the Record” is a documentary about the labor unrest, told from organized labor’s perspective.
