A Senate Foreign Relations subcommittee held a hearing to examine a report released by the Syria Study Group (SSG) on recommendations for U.S. policy in Syria. The co-chairs of the group presented the findings of the congressionally-mandated report to the committee, highlighting Russia’s influence in Syria, the humanitarian crisis, Prsident Bashar al-Assad’s hold on power, and shoring up more international support. close
