New America hosted a discussion on ranked-choice voting (RCV), a system which takes voters' preferences among all candidates into account if no candidate receives a majority. The panelists discussed the ways that ranked choice voting would create party unity, how it has impacted communities that currently use the system, as well as how it gives the voters back their voice. A new C-SPAN/Ipsos poll found that only 37% of voters prefer ranked-choice over winner-takes-all systems. close
