British Prime Minister Boris Johnson answered questions from members of his party and the opposition during his weekly question time from House of Commons members. He took several questions from members on stalled negotiations of a Brexit deal one day after lawmakers voted to hold a snap general election on December 12, 2019. Other inquiries focused on the prime minister’s political future and leadership, the future of U.K.'s National Health Service (NHS), and the government’s recent talks with U.S. drug companies. The prime minister began the hour-long session thanking Speaker John Bercow for his ten-year service as speaker. Other members paid tribute to the speaker as this was his last Question Time session in the House of Commons. close
