Miguel Fraga, first secretary of the Cuban Embassy in Washington D.C., spoke about U.S.-Cuba relations. He talked about the impact of the U.S. embargo, the changes on the island over the preceding five years, pop culture and media influences, and how Cubans perceived foreign policy in the United States. Mr. Fraga referenced the U.N. General Assembly resolution that was happening during his presentation, which called for the end of the embargo. 187 countries voted in favor of the resolution while three countries -- the U.S., Brazil, and Israel -- voted against the resolution. close
