House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) and Representative John Sarbanes (D-MD) participated in a roundtable discussion four days before the tenth anniversary of the Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United v. FEC. The 5-4 ruling allowed for unlimited spending on political campaigns by outside groups. Other speakers at this event included End Citizens United Action Fund President Tiffany Muller along with several NAACP chapter presidents. close
