Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Labor Party Leader Anthony Albanese addressed the recent wildfires before Parliament in Canberra. Prime Minister Morrison put forth a motion in the House of Representatives, which honors the wildfire victims and first responders along with pledging the full support of Parliament to assist affected areas. Since September 2019, wildfires had killed at least 33 people and an estimated one billion native animals along with destroying 3,000 homes. close
