After paying tribute to a U.S. service member recently killed in action, Senator Tim Kaine (D-VA) spoke at length on the chamber floor about his proposal to limit the use of U.S. military force against Iran. He was followed by Senator Patty Murray (D-WA), who also spoke in favor of the measure. Then, Majority Whip John Thune (R-SD) spoke against the measure, saying that the Trump administration’s strike against Iranian General Soleimani was justified. close
