The principal chief of the Cherokee Nation talked about the tribe’s history following their removal from the Southeast to present-day Oklahoma. Chief Chuck Hoskin focused on how the Cherokee concentrated on rebuilding and strengthening their culture despite much adversity. This talk was part of an all-day conference titled, “John Marshall, the Supreme Court, and the Trail of Tears” that was co-hosted by the Virginia Museum of History and Culture and Preservation Virginia. close
