The Senate voted 96-1 to approve the House-passed $8.3 billion emergency spending bill to fund the federal response to the coronavirus outbreak. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) voted against the measure. Members also continued work on a bill to reset energy and environment policy. The legislation combines more than 50 bills offered by various senators, both Democrats and Republicans, and includes issues such as energy efficiency, battery storage, carbon capture, electric grid security, building codes, and a new generation of nuclear reactors. close
